Bringing Up Kids Is Not Easy
Bringing up the next
generation is not easy, is often hard work, and can be confusing on
how best to handle situations. Importantly, all parents at one time
or another experience common child behaviour difficulties such as
temper tantrums, defiance and demanding.
'Confident Parents - Confident Kids'
The 'Confident Parents
- Confident Kids' programme offers parents/carers living in
Eastleigh Borough down to earth practical advice on understanding
and getting on with your child and positive ways of encouraging
good behaviour. It values your experience and builds on your
parenting skills.
The Background
The Leigh Park Parenting
Project started in September 1997 to develop a groupwork programme
for all parents who were interested to learn more about their
children's behaviour (18 months - 7years) and to get advice on
tackling common behaviour difficulties.
The Project was set up by
Hampshire County Council Education Department and has been
developed with other agencies who work in the Leigh Park
area. Funding from the lottery has enabled the parenting
project to be run locally.
