Who are we?
Southern Focus Trust is a
registered charity providing care, support and advice to people in
Hampshire and West Sussex. The 'Community Support Services'
Department assists people to repair, improve, maintain or adapt
their homes. By improving living conditions, we enhance the
quality of life for our customers enabling them to remain in their
homes in greater comfort and security. Handyperson services
are funded by Local Authorities and Social Services. To find

What are our aims?
Working in conjunction
with Eastleigh Borough Council and the Healthy Living
Network Partnership, we assist our clients to continue to live in
their own homes by providing a low cost minor repair
service.
Who qualifies for help and what sort of work do we do?
- People over the age of
60
- People with
disabilities
- Families on low
income
Most types of minor work can be
undertaken by our qualified staff but they cannot repair gas or
electrical appliances, erect new fences or work on roofs. If
we are unable to do the job then we can find someone who can from
our list of Preferred Contractors. If you are unsure, please
talk to our staff.
How it works and the cost
We will arrange for
the Handyperson to visit you in your home and provide an
estimate for the works. The Handyperson will be able to give
you advice on a wide range of repairs. The service costs
£10 per hour or £8 per hour for those in receipt of Income
Support, Pension Credit, Council Tax Benefit and Housing
Benefit. You will be advised of the charge when you call the
office. The minimum charge is for one hour's work, after that
the charge is to the nearest half hour. You can provide your
own materials or they can be obtained for you and charged at
cost. Normally there is a limit of four hours for each job
carried out and usually one job a month is
undertaken.
