Active
Lifestyles incorporates Healthworks (Exercise Referral Scheme) and
Healthwalks (walking scheme). Both are funded by Eastleigh Borough
Council and Eastleigh and Test Valley Primary Care Trust.
Healthworks is based mainly at Fleming Park Leisure Centre but the
scheme also runs from Hamble Community Sports College and
from Wildern Leisure Centre.
Healthworks is a 16 week physical
activity prescription scheme which is designed to provide
opportunities for people to improve their health by becoming more
active, more often.

Who Is It For?
Anyone over 16 who may be at risk
from conditions that would benefit from an increase in physical
activity. They include:
- Being overweight
- Smoking
- Having High Blood Pressure
- Suffering from stress
Activities under the 16 week
prescription include:
- Gym Workout
- Swimming
- Aquatherapy classes
- Healthwalks
How Does It Work?
Following an
assessment from their GP, patients who are given a physical
activity prescription are given a FREE consultation with a member
of the Healthworks Team. After this consultation, a personal
exercise programme is designed according to the individual.
Healthwalks
Healthwalks are organised
walks led by a qualified Walk Leader. We run 9
walks a week, every week of the year rain or shine!
All the walks are FREE! They last
about one hour and you walk at your own pace.
If you would like to join in, just turn up!
