The Hub
The new £1.4million sports hall and
pavilion at Eastleigh's Bishopstoke Road recreation ground was
named and opened as 'the hub' by Borough Deputy Mayor Councillor
Peter Wall on Wednesday 21st September. He was assisted at
the ceremony by Amy Parsons of the Capital Youth Club and John Luke

The Capital Youth Club
The Capital Youth Club manage the
sports facilities at The Hub. The capital yuth club, formally
Eastleigh Boys club has a long history to it. Please read more about

Club
Friday 5 - 6pm
This activity club is aimed at young boys and girls between the
ages of 8 and 12. The sessions are lead by a highly qualified
coach and offer young people the chance to participate in multi
skills activities, specific sports, individual and team games
amongst many other varied activities.
The sessions are £2.50. There
is a discount available for booking the whole 7 week
programme.Starts again Friday 12th Sept. 2008

These coaching sessions have been
established for a little while now and are proving to be very
popular. The sessions are designed to fit in after school and
start at 4pm. Our qualified coaches offer a varied programme
throughout the 10 weeks working on skills and technique with the
main aim being fun!!

Pay & Play Badminton Sessions
These evening sessions offer a friendly
atmosphere for people to come along and have a chance to play with
different people of varying abilities. The sessions last around two
hours and are only £3.80. Depending on group size you might get a
chance to sit out for a drink and a chat in-between games. Rackets
and shuttles are provided if needed. No need to book, just turn up
with enthusiasm and a smile.
Eastleigh Boxing Club

The club consists of a wide age
range and abilities. Our ABA qualified coaches lead training
sessions that promote a high level of fitness as well as working
with individuals to develop their skills.
Don't worry, you won't be put in
the ring straight away, most members don't try this unless they
really want to and have completed sufficient training.

Junior Boxing
Circuit Thursday
5:45 - 6:45pm
Coached and lead by our qualified
boxercise coach and supported by ABA boxing qualified
coaches. This session offers young people an introduction to
boxing and the opportunity to boxing and the opportunity to develop
a high level of fitness. The sessions are designed to teach
the young people the basic fitness and skills needed for the
foundations to be successful in the sport of boxing. During
the hour, activities will be structured to include the following
key skills.
This lesson is open to boys and
girls aged between 10 & 16 and gives young people a chance to
have a taste of the sport. Contact can be coached on certain
sessions but only if the students are keen to try this area of the
sport.
- Skipping
- Stretching
- Punch bag practice
- Stance, skills & technique
- Cardiovascular exercise
- Circuit training
- Discipline
Just come along, give it a try and
pay on the door. It's £2.50 and we recommend you wear
comfortable sports clothes, trainers and bring a drink with
you. (If you have a skipping rope, please bring this
along).
If, having tried this you are keen
to take the sport further, we can recommend that your name is added
to the club's waiting list for membership.

Legs Bums & Tums/Boxercise
Janice Bartlett has been leading
various types of community exercise classes here at the hub since
we opened. Legs, Bums & Tums is a favourite and runs on a
Tuesday evening. Having proved very popular on a Saturday
morning, Boxercise classes are now available on a Thursday evening
as well.
We are keen to meet the
needs of the community, so please contact us if there is an type of
exercise or dance class you would like to see at the hub.
LBT: Come & blast away those wobbly
bits. LBT is designed to work & tone those areas we use
least during the day “the problem areas”
Boxercise: Come along to this awesome
circuit style class, made up of individual stations, so you decide
how hard (or easy) you want to work. Boxercise is the perfect
all round work out that really is suitable for all, from us junkies
to fitness virgins – men and women. Boxercise classes are
always fun, energetic & addictive!

Karate & Kick Boxing
Sama Southampton were the first
group to start their classes at the hub and havce been growing from
strength to strength. The Karate classes are suitable for all
ages and Kick boxing is generally suited for age 16 +. Why
not pop in on a Wednesday evening and have a look.
